PRIDE & PROTECTION FOR YOUR HOME
Wood Destroying Insect (WDI) inspection is often known as a "Termite Inspection" or a "Pest Inspection." If you’re buying, selling, or refinancing your home, chances are you‘ll need a “Wood Destroying Insect” (WDI) Inspection. These pests are more than annoying; they can pose serious risks to your health and property. If undetected and/or left untreated an infestation can present a significant hazard. Such damage could result in the devaluation of property or substantial costs for repair. Catching these infestations early is the key to protecting your most important investment, your home.
- Subterranean termites cause 95 percent of all termite damage in North America. Colonies can contain up to 1 million members.
- All kinds of buildings, regardless of age or type of construction, are vulnerable to infestation and damage by carpenter ants. Carpenter ants are very difficult to control. Colonies can contain up to 50,000 workers.
- Carpenter bees get their name from their habit of making holes in wood. There are several species of carpenter bees in the United States.
- The term “powderpost beetle” may refer to several different kinds of wood-infesting beetles. These beetles infest hardwoods (like floors and trim) and softwood (such as wall framing and support joists).
Stairs & Pipes Home Inspections, will visually inspect accessible areas of your home or building, for evidence of wood destroying insect activity, like termites, carpenter ants, carpenter bees, and re-infesting wood boring beetles.
In order to perform a WDI inspection you must be licensed with the State of Ohio. I am trained and licensed by the state of Ohio Department of Agriculture #147214.
What A WDI Report is Not:
- A WDI Report is not a destructive and/or exploratory inspection of the structure. The pest and their behavior are studied, and a lot information about them can be observed and deducted, but all comments are based solely on what was present, visible, and accessible at the time of inspection.
- A WDI Report is not a warranty and does not provide a guarantee.
